Rodolfo Vivero was born in the Mexico’s northern state of Durango, in a small town near Gomez Palacio City. He now resides in Saltillo in Mexico.

He is a Oracle Applications Functional & Technical Consultant specialising in Oracle Financials, Order Management & Oracle Supply Chain.

Rodolfo has taken time out to answer out Top 10 below.

How did you come to work with Oracle Apps/ Oracle Development Tools?

A: I came to Oracle, in Mexico City, to help construct the Oracle Applications Educational area for Latin America. I am essentially an hands-on guy, so i began learning how to install applications, 10SC in those years. It took me 3 months, trying one and one more time, to know how to install the software.

When did you become an Oracle Contractor?

A: Actually I have been working as contractor since 8 or 9 years ago.

What is the most enjoyable part of your work?

A: I enjoy projects beginnings, the discovering of the parts that will depict the whole scenario and the satisfaction when all the pieces suddenly take his place.

What is the least enjoyable part of your work?

A: Well, it is not properly part of the work but it is part of the whole “enchilada”: it is looking for the next project, the inter-project space-time. The next thing is finding where to live once you are going to begin.

What has been the most satisfying project you have worked on and why?

A: I spent 6 months in a suburban area in Madrid (Getafe) in a multinational project in 2007, and it was very satisfying because it involved many professional and personal challenges: contracted as manager and demoted to analyst, first time in Europe, everything familiar but strange at the same time. The end result was very good. A hard and well done work, and many personal findings. I met wonderful people.

Which consultant / contractor have you learnt the most from / enjoyed working with the most and why?

A: One of them was Borja Carroquino. i really appreciate the support he gave me in the Spain project, and his urgency for a timely, precise and high quality work. The second one, Carlos Salim Eltibi, i am still amazed by his capability to conduct a huge project with different teams along all the world: Latin America and Brazil, Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia.

What do you see happening in Oracle Apps as we move towards Fusion?

A: I have not payed attention to this subject. I am afraid have not an opinion.

What are the hot topics in your area of expertise?

A: I frequently wonder what is what i do best and do not find an easy answer. Maybe it is the flexibility to do, and dare to try things not done before and sometimes far from the main line of a consultant. What i perceive as my best gift is the natural comprehension of the parts that constitute a project and the mental clarity of such.

What do you do when you are not working?

A: I enjoy music, reading, movies. I enjoy movies specially. Lately i spent a fairly amount of time trying brainwave technology products.
