Jodi Elelchik

Jodi Ekelchik joined her first Oracle ERP implementation 14 years ago, and has been in the university and not-for-profit sector ever since, in the US and the UK.  Following an initial start in configuration and training, Jodi focused on project management, in particular, introducing change across large organisations.

Jodi is a business transformation leader and professional with global experience.  She has expertise in strengthening business processes, launching new IT initiatives and leading organization-wide transition.  She is recognised for enhancing communication between functional and technical resources, facilitating change and managing projects.

Jodi’s specialties include:  Business Process Reviews, Project Management, Business Requirements Workshops, Issues and Risk Management, Communications Strategy and Business Continuity Planning.  Jodi has worked primarily with Oracle Financials and Grants Management, and is a Prince2 Practioner.

Jodi has taken time out to answer our ‘Top 10′ questions below

How did you come to work with Oracle Apps/ Oracle Development Tools?

A: I started working for a consulting firm in Dec 2006, and one week later, I was sent to work on a Y2k and Oracle ERP implementation.

When did you become an Oracle Contractor?

A: I have been a contractor since 2003.

What is the most enjoyable part of your work?

A: Identifying new challenges and working with my clients to surpass these challenges.

What is the least enjoyable part of your work?

A: Working with other project managers who are way off par.

What has been the most satisfying project you have worked on and why?

A: Introducing a facilitated testing programme across multiple departments, where feedback received was very positive on the testing programme, and the software being introduced.  And this, from people who do not test software on a regular basis.

Which consultant / contractor have you learnt the most from / enjoyed working with the most and why?

A: Although he only spent a short time on my first project, the project manager set a very high bar on delivery.  I have followed his lead ever since.

What do you see happening in Oracle Apps as we move towards Fusion?

A: Given a more intuitive front end, I hope this will allow for further discussion on business processes and in introducing new IT initiatives.

What are the hot topics in your area of expertise?

A: More effective and efficient business and IT work practices.

What do you do when you are not working?

A: Tai Chi, Cinema, travel, finding new and interesting restaurants…
